Situated on the East Coast of the North Island, a leisurely hours' drive south of Gisborne City is Mahia Beach. An idyllic coastal spot, has breathtaking scenes and a choice of Mahia, Opoutama, Mahanga and Blacks beaches and other little bays to be explored.

Take the turnoff at Nuhaka from SH2 roundabout, and you'll know when you've approached paradise, when the first beach you get to is Blacks Beach, world famous in NZ for fishing and the surf breaks. Over the hill from here is Opoutama Beach, another of Mahia's wonders with its easy shore breaks and is family friendly for fishing, kayaking, boogie boarding and all the fun beach activities.

Qodesh in Hebrew meaning 'SET APART FOR GOD', is a Christian camp located at the end of the YMCA Rd. It was the vision of Pastors Norm & Joyce King for camps and retreats. Over the years it was recognised that there was a need for a space to relax and be a holiday spot for families and others to enjoy in a Christian atmosphere, which is what it is today.
