COMMUNITY

Here at Alight Church we continue to be committed to bringing great church to Wairoa and the region. we meet every week at our venue on the Main Road south to worship, fellowship and share the truth of His word. Our purpose is to work alongside and support whanau and individuals reach the potential that God has for them.

We are strategic in position and in heart, to always bring God's amazing love and gospel to those who have a desire to walk, in relationship and fellowship with Jesus. We look to him as the bible instructs us to do, looking to him, who is the author and finisher of our faith, for our strength and spiritual nourishment in our mission, locally, nationally and internationally.

Come and join with us, working together to broadcast the greatest message the world could ever hear.

GLOWKIDS

Glowkids is a fun and safe space in our Sunday service run just for kids.

But guess what? The adults love it too!

Our team, who love children and love Jesus, have an attentive audience with the kids who get to learn a little more each week through the variety of lessons and activities shared and taught. What a great place it is, to be in church learning about the Light of the world. Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' We want to build our tamariki with, as our tagline says, have a burning desire be in relationship and to serve God.

Our vision is to see children get the opportunity to hear about Jesus, to learn about Him and to know Him.

Glowkids is run during the 10am service at Alight Church each Sunday.

See you there!

When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?’Then the King will say, ‘I’m telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me, you did it to me.’

TE HAHI WAIROA

Te Hāhi is a faith-based volunteer organisation that provides care and support to people impacted by family harm.   Te Hāhi is made up of a collective of churches within local communities that partner with Police in providing this support.

SUPPORTING COMMUNITY
Our volunteers visit families on behalf of the Police, and offer awhi (support) in many ways - through kai, practical help around the home, or simply a listening ear. Our volunteers also support and encourage Police staff in appreciation for their efforts and the burden they bear.

This exciting initiative is in the beginning stages of being established here in Wairoa and we will keep you up to date on it's progress.
